Qu'est-ce qu'un domaine de premier niveau (TLD) ?

Un domaine de premier niveau (TLD) est le niveau le plus élevé du système de noms de domaine (DNS) hiérarchique. C'est le dernier segment d'un nom de domaine : la partie qui suit le point final, comme .com , .org ou .uk . Les TLD sont gérés par l'Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) , qui délègue la responsabilité opérationnelle à des opérateurs de registre. Types de TLD

Comment les TLD sont gérés

Chaque TLD dispose d'un opérateur de registre désigné (ou registre) qui gère la base de données centrale des noms de domaine de ce TLD. Les registres travaillent avec des bureaux d'enregistrement accrédités (comme GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains) qui vendent les enregistrements de domaines aux utilisateurs finaux.
