About Our Quizlet-Style Quiz Generator

What Is a Quizlet-Style Quiz Generator?

A quiz generator is a study tool that lets you create interactive quizzes from your own questions and answers. Similar to popular flashcard and quiz platforms, our generator supports multiple question types - multiple-choice, true/false, and fill-in-the-blank - so you can tailor your study materials to different subjects and learning styles. Unlike cloud-based alternatives, everything runs locally in your browser for complete privacy.

Multiple Choice, True/False & Fill-in-the-Blank

Multiple-choice questions present a question with up to 4 answer options, where only one is correct - ideal for definitions, identification, and conceptual understanding. True/false questions present a statement that is either correct or incorrect - great for fact verification and quick knowledge checks. Fill-in-the-blank questions ask you to type the correct answer - perfect for vocabulary, terminology, and recall-based learning where spelling matters.

Timed vs Practice Modes

Practice Mode is designed for learning - questions are presented one at a time with instant feedback after each answer. You see whether you got it right (with a green/red indicator) and the correct answer is shown immediately. This mode is perfect for initial studying and review. Timed Mode adds a countdown timer (configurable from 1-60 minutes) and saves all results until the end. This mode helps build speed and simulates real exam conditions. After the timer expires or you finish all questions, you get a full score summary.

Manual Entry & Spreadsheet Import

You can add questions one at a time using the manual entry form - perfect for creating focused, small quizzes. For larger question banks, use the spreadsheet import format: paste a tab-separated list of questions and answers directly into a text area. The format is simple: one question per line, with the question and correct answer separated by a tab. Options for multiple-choice can be added after the correct answer, separated by commas. This makes it easy to create quizzes from spreadsheets, study guides, or collaborative documents.

Frequently Asked Questions About Quiz Generator

How do I create a quiz?
Start by typing or pasting your questions into the question entry area. You can add questions one at a time using the "Add Question" form - select the question type (multiple-choice, true/false, or fill-in-the-blank), enter the question text, the correct answer, and any answer options. For bulk import, paste a tab-separated list of questions and answers using the "Spreadsheet Import" option. Once you have at least one question, click "Start Quiz" to begin.
What question types are available?
Three question types are supported: Multiple-Choice (select the correct answer from up to 4 options - ideal for definitions and conceptual questions), True/False (determine if a statement is correct or incorrect - great for quick knowledge checks), and Fill-in-the-Blank (type the correct answer - perfect for vocabulary, terminology, and recall). You can mix question types within a single quiz.
What is the difference between Timed and Practice Mode?
Practice Mode shows questions one at a time with instant feedback after each answer - you see immediately whether you got it right and what the correct answer is. This is best for learning and review. Timed Mode sets a countdown timer (1-60 minutes) and saves all results until the end of the quiz. After the timer expires or you finish all questions, you get a full score summary. Timed Mode is best for simulating real exam conditions.
How do I import questions from a spreadsheet?
Click "Spreadsheet Import" and paste your tab-separated (TSV) data into the text area. Format each line as: question [tab] correct_answer [tab] option1, option2, option3 (for multiple-choice). For true/false, use: statement [tab] True (or False). For fill-in-the-blank, use: question text [tab] correct answer. You can export questions from Google Sheets, Excel, or any spreadsheet app as TSV and paste directly.
Can I save my quiz and come back later?
Currently, quiz data is not saved to a server for privacy reasons. However, you can export your questions before leaving by copying the question list. The tool is designed for focused study sessions - we recommend creating your quiz and completing it in one sitting. For repeated use, keep your source questions in a spreadsheet and paste them in each time.
How is my score calculated?
Your score is calculated as the percentage of correct answers out of total questions attempted. Each question is worth one point regardless of type. Fill-in-the-blank answers are case-insensitive and trimmed of extra spaces for fair grading. After completing the quiz, you get a detailed review showing every question with your answer, the correct answer, and whether you got it right.
Is my data safe when using this quiz generator?
Absolutely. All quiz data - questions, answers, and results - is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server, stored in any database, or tracked in any way. No signup or account is needed. Close the page and everything is gone. Complete privacy for all your study materials.
How many questions can I add to a quiz?
There is no hard limit on the number of questions. For manual entry, you can add as many questions as you like using the "Add Question" button. For spreadsheet import, paste up to several hundred questions at once. However, for the best experience with timed mode, we recommend 10-50 questions per quiz session. Larger question banks can be split across multiple study sessions.
