Understanding Wardrobe Planning
What is a Wardrobe / Outfit Planner?
A wardrobe planner is a digital tool that helps you catalog your clothing items, plan outfits, and track what you wear. Instead of rummaging through your closet each morning, you can browse your catalog, generate random outfit combinations, and plan your week's outfits in advance. Our planner stores everything locally in your browser - no account, no uploads, no data sharing.
How Our Wardrobe Planner Works
- Catalog Your Items: Add clothing items by category (tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories) with colour, season, and formality tags. Your items are saved to localStorage and persist across sessions.
- Generate Outfits: Click "Generate Outfit" to get a random combination of one item from each category. The generator prefers items you haven't worn recently for fresh combinations.
- Plan & Track: Assign outfits to specific days of the week in the weekly planner. Mark outfits as worn to track your usage patterns and see which items you reach for most often.
Tagging System
- Category: Organises items into tops, bottoms, shoes, and accessories. The outfit generator picks one item from each category to create a complete outfit.
- Colour: Visual colour tag helps you see your items at a glance and plan colour-coordinated outfits. The colour dot appears on every item card.
- Season: Tags for spring, summer, fall, winter, or all seasons help you plan seasonally appropriate outfits.
- Formality: Casual, business, or formal tags ensure your generated outfits match the dress code for any occasion.
Privacy & Data Storage
The Wardrobe / Outfit Planner stores all data locally in your browser's localStorage. No clothing data, outfit plans, or wear patterns are ever uploaded to any server. Your wardrobe information stays completely private on your device. Clearing your browser data will remove your saved wardrobe, so consider backing up if needed.
