Understanding the Chore Chart Generator
What is a Chore Chart Generator?
A chore chart generator is a tool that creates weekly chore assignments for family members, roommates, or any group sharing responsibilities. Instead of manually writing out who does what each week, a chore chart generator automatically assigns chores with random rotation, tracks completion, and produces a printable PDF for the fridge. Our chore chart generator runs entirely in your browser - no signup, no data upload, and all data is automatically saved to localStorage.
How Our Chore Chart Generator Works
- Add Members and Chores: Enter the names of family members or roommates. Each person gets a colour-coded badge. Then add the chores you want to rotate - vacuuming, kitchen cleaning, bathroom duty, etc. Each chore can have an optional description.
- Start with Week 1: Chores are automatically assigned to members using a random shuffle algorithm. Each chore shows who it is assigned to with a colour dot and name. Click the circle next to the assigned person to mark a chore as complete - a green checkmark appears inside the circle.
- Advance to Next Weeks:Click “Next Week” to create a new week with fresh assignments. The shuffle ensures fair rotation over time. Use the “Re-shuffle” button if you want to change the current week's assignments. Download a PDF of any week to print and display physically.
