Ticket Resale Platform Fee Calculator

A ticket resale platform fee calculator helps ticket sellers and buyers understand the true cost of using secondary ticketing marketplaces. Enter a ticket resale price and select platforms - StubHub, Vivid Seats, SeatGeek, TickPick, or Gametime - to see seller commission fees, buyer service fees, net proceeds for sellers, and total costs for buyers. The calculator ranks platforms by seller net proceeds and shows a detailed side-by-side comparison so you can choose the best platform for your needs.

Enter a ticket resale price (e.g. $150 for a concert ticket) and select which platforms you want to compare. The calculator applies each platform's unique fee structure - seller commission percentage, buyer service fee percentage, and any delivery fees - to compute both seller and buyer perspectives simultaneously. Results are ranked by seller net proceeds (highest to lowest) with the best option highlighted. A detailed comparison table shows every metric including effective fee rates. All calculations run locally in your browser with no data uploaded to any server.

Ticket resale platforms operate as two-sided marketplaces, collecting fees from both sellers and buyers. Seller fees are typically a commission percentage (10-15%) deducted from the sale price - this is what the seller pays to list and sell on the platform.Buyer fees are service fees added on top of the listed ticket price, often ranging from 10-20% depending on the platform. Some platforms like TickPick charge zero buyer fees (building their revenue entirely from seller commissions), while others like Vivid Seats charge higher buyer fees but lower seller commissions. Understanding this balance is key to choosing the right platform for your specific situation.

When selling tickets, your goal is to maximize net proceeds - the amount you receive after platform fees. When buying, your goal is to minimize the total cost including service fees. These goals often point to different platforms. For example, StubHub and TickPick offer similar seller proceeds, but TickPick charges buyers zero fees while StubHub adds ~15%. On the other hand, Vivid Seats and Gametime charge sellers lower commissions (10%) but add higher buyer fees. Our calculator shows both perspectives simultaneously so you can find the right balance for your situation. Since the FTC's all-in pricing rule took effect in 2025, platforms now display total prices upfront, but the underlying fee structures remain the same - our calculator makes them transparent.
