Pay-Per-View Revenue Calculator

Pay-per-view (PPV) virtual event revenue is the income generated from selling individual tickets to a live or on-demand virtual event. Unlike subscription-based models, PPV events charge a one-time fee per attendee for access. The PPV revenue calculator helps event organizers project their net revenue by accounting for all costs involved: platform service fees, payment processing fees, and expected chargebacks or refunds. Understanding virtual event revenue is essential for pricing your tickets correctly, choosing the right streaming platform, and budgeting for successful online events. All calculations in our pay-per-view revenue calculator run locally in your browser with no data uploaded to any server.

Our pay-per-view revenue calculator works in three simple steps:

1. Enter your event parameters: Set your ticket price, expected attendee count, select your streaming platform (or enter custom fees), and set your expected chargeback or refund rate.
2. Review your detailed fee breakdown:Instantly see your gross ticket revenue, platform fee (based on your selected platform's commission structure), payment processing fee (typically 2.9%), and estimated chargeback losses. The net revenue is calculated after all deductions.
3. Explore three attendance scenarios: The calculator automatically projects your revenue under conservative (80% of expected), expected (100%), and optimistic (120%) attendance scenarios. This helps you plan for different outcomes and make informed event budgeting decisions.

• Gross Revenue: The total ticket sales before any deductions. Calculated as ticket price multiplied by number of attendees.
• Platform Fee: The commission taken by your streaming or ticketing platform. This varies significantly - Zoom Webinar charges no platform fee, Vimeo OTT charges 10%, and dedicated PPV platforms can charge 15-20%.
• Payment Processing Fee: The fee charged by payment processors like Stripe or PayPal to handle credit card transactions. Typically 2.9% + fixed fee, calculated on the amount remaining after the platform fee.
• Chargeback / Refund Loss: Estimated losses from refunds and credit card chargebacks. Even well-run virtual events typically experience 0.5-3% chargeback rates.
• Net Revenue: Your actual take-home revenue after all fees and losses. This is the key metric for assessing event profitability.
• Effective Fee Rate: The total percentage of gross revenue consumed by all fees combined, giving you a single number to compare platform costs.

Your event data and revenue projections are processed entirely in your browser. No data is uploaded to any server - every calculation runs locally using client-side JavaScript. The pay-per-view revenue calculator is free to use with no signup, no limits, and no hidden charges. We do not store, share, or transmit any of the event information you enter. Use it as often as you need to model different pricing strategies, platform choices, and attendance scenarios for your virtual events.
