Why Use Our Batch File Obfuscator?
Multi-File Batch Processing
Upload and obfuscate multiple files simultaneously - source code, scripts, configuration files, or text documents. The batch obfuscator processes each file individually while maintaining their original structure, encoding, and relationships. Supports files of any type and size with no upload limits, all processed locally in your browser.
Per-File Obfuscation Options
Configure obfuscation settings for each file individually or apply global settings to all files at once. Choose from multiple obfuscation techniques: Base64 encoding, hex encoding, ROT13 cipher, reverse text, Unicode escapes, and character substitution. Each file's original extension and structure are preserved.
Flexible Download Options
Download obfuscated files individually or as a ZIP archive containing all processed files. Each file retains its original name with an obfuscated suffix, making it easy to identify and organize. File metadata, directory structure hints, and processing summaries are preserved in the ZIP package.
100% Local & Private Processing
All file processing, encoding, and obfuscation happens entirely in your browser. Files are never uploaded to any server, stored in any cloud, or transmitted over the network. Your source code, scripts, and sensitive documents remain completely private on your device at all times.
Common Use Cases for Batch File Obfuscator
Source Code Protection
Developers obfuscate multiple source code files before sharing code snippets, demo projects, or client deliverables. Batch processing ensures all files in a project use consistent obfuscation, making it harder for casual viewers to understand the code while preserving its functionality for authorized recipients.
Script Batch Distribution
System administrators obfuscate collections of shell scripts, PowerShell scripts, or batch files before distributing them across multiple servers or sharing with team members. Batch obfuscation ensures all scripts use the same encoding scheme and can be deobfuscated consistently.
Configuration File Protection
DevOps engineers obfuscate configuration files containing API keys, connection strings, and deployment settings before sharing them across environments. Batch processing handles all config files at once, applying consistent obfuscation while maintaining the original file structure for automated tooling.
Educational Code Distribution
Instructors obfuscate solution files before distributing coding exercises to students. Batch processing applies consistent obfuscation to all solution files, allowing instructors to share complete project structures without revealing answers, while students can deobfuscate incrementally.
Internal Tool Distribution
Teams sharing internal tools and utilities across the organization obfuscate the source to prevent casual modification while still allowing execution. Batch processing makes it practical to distribute multi-file toolsets with consistent protection applied to every component.
Penetration Testing Payloads
Security researchers and penetration testers obfuscate collections of test payloads, exploit scripts, and security tools to evade signature-based detection during authorized testing. Batch processing with varied obfuscation methods creates diverse payload sets for comprehensive testing.
Understanding Batch File Obfuscation
What is Batch File Obfuscation?
Batch file obfuscation is the process of transforming multiple files simultaneously using encoding techniques to make their content less readable while keeping them functionally usable. Unlike single-file obfuscation, batch obfuscation applies consistent transformations across an entire project or file collection, ensuring that related files remain compatible with each other after obfuscation. The Batch File Obfuscation Tool supports multiple encoding methods including Base64, hex encoding, ROT13 cipher, reverse text, Unicode escapes, and character substitution. Each method produces differently obfuscated output while maintaining the ability to restore the original content through the corresponding deobfuscation process.
How the Batch Obfuscator Works
- File Upload - Drag and drop or browse to select multiple files of any type. The tool reads each file as text, displaying them in a file list with names, sizes, and types. You can add or remove files at any time before processing.
- Obfuscation Selection - Choose a global obfuscation method for all files, or configure each file individually. Methods include: Base64 encoding (produces standard Base64 output), Hex encoding (converts to hexadecimal representation), ROT13 cipher (rotates alphabetic characters by 13 positions), Reverse text (reverses character order), Unicode escapes (converts to \\uXXXX format), and Character substitution (shifts ASCII values by a configurable offset).
- Processing - Click the obfuscate button to transform all files at once. Each file is processed independently with its chosen method. A progress indicator shows the processing status for each file. Summary statistics show total files processed and total size transformed.
- Download Results - After processing, you can download files individually by clicking on each file, or download all files as a single ZIP archive. Each file retains its original name with an obfuscation method indicator added to the filename for easy identification.
Obfuscation Methods Available
- Base64 Encoding: Encodes file content as Base64 using the standard alphabet. The most common obfuscation method, producing compact output with recognizable padding (= characters). Easily reversed using any standard Base64 decoder.
- Hex Encoding: Converts each byte of the UTF-8 representation to a two-character hexadecimal value. Produces the most expanded output (2x original size) but is the simplest to implement and reverse.
- ROT13 Cipher: Shifts each alphabetic character by 13 positions (A-N, M-Z). ROT13 is its own inverse - applying it twice returns the original text. Only affects letters; numbers and special characters pass through unchanged.
- Reverse Text: Reverses the character order of the entire file content. Simple but effective obfuscation that defeats casual reading. Each word appears backwards, making the content difficult to scan quickly.
- Unicode Escapes: Converts each character to its Unicode escape sequence (\\uXXXX format). Produces very verbose output but makes the content completely unreadable at a glance while being trivially reversible.
- Character Substitution: Shifts each character's ASCII value by a configurable offset (1-25). Similar to ROT13 but with a customizable shift value. Different offsets produce different obfuscation results from the same input.
Privacy & Security
This tool runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files, uploaded content, processing results, and any sensitive data within your files are never uploaded to any server, stored in any database, or transmitted over the network. All Base64 encoding, hex conversion, ROT13 cipher operations, reverse text processing, Unicode escape generation, character substitution, ZIP archive creation, and individual file downloads execute locally on your device. There are no API calls, analytics tracking, cookies, or data collection of any kind. This makes it completely safe for obfuscating proprietary code, confidential configuration files, or sensitive project documents.
Frequently Asked Questions About Batch File Obfuscator
A batch file obfuscator encodes or transforms multiple files at once using various obfuscation techniques. Unlike single-file tools, batch processing applies consistent transformations across an entire collection of files - source code, scripts, configurations, or text documents. Each file is processed independently with its chosen method, and the results can be downloaded individually or as a ZIP archive.
Six methods are available: Base64 encoding (standard Base64 output with padding), Hex encoding (each byte becomes two hex characters), ROT13 cipher (alphabetic rotation by 13 positions, self-inverting), Reverse text (reverses character order), Unicode escapes (converts to \uXXXX format), and Character substitution (ASCII shift with configurable offset from 1 to 25).
Yes. You can apply a global obfuscation method to all files at once, or configure each file individually with a different method. This is useful when you want to vary obfuscation across files in a project or apply different encoding based on file type or sensitivity level.
Any text-based file type is supported - source code (.js, .py, .ts, .html, .css, .php, .rb, .java, .go, .rs), scripts (.sh, .bat, .ps1), configuration files (.json, .xml, .yaml, .ini, .env, .toml), and plain text (.txt, .md, .csv). Binary files are read as text and encoded as well.
Both options are available. You can download each obfuscated file individually by clicking the download button next to it in the file list. You can also download all processed files as a single ZIP archive for convenience. Each file retains its original name with an obfuscation method indicator.
Absolutely. The batch obfuscator runs entirely in your browser. Your files, uploaded content, and obfuscated results are never uploaded to any server, stored in any database, or transmitted over the network. All processing - reading files, applying obfuscation, creating ZIP archives, and generating downloads - executes locally on your device with no API calls or data collection.
There are no artificial file size limits. Since all processing is local, the practical limit depends on your device memory. Most modern computers can handle dozens of files totaling tens of megabytes without issues. For very large files or hundreds of files, ensure sufficient available memory.
