When you select a background colour, the avatar generator automatically calculates the luminance of that colour using the ITU-R BT.601 formula. If the background is light (luminance > 0.5), the text colour is set to a dark grey (#1F2937) for readability. If the background is dark, the text colour is set to white (#FFFFFF). You can override this automatic choice using the text colour selector at any time.
