JavaScript Obfuscation Report & Analyzer
Analyze JavaScript code to detect obfuscation techniques, get a severity score from 1 to 10, understand deobfuscation difficulty, and receive actionable tool recommendations. Paste any JS code - from minified scripts to heavily obfuscated malware samples - and get an instant diagnostic report.
Paste JavaScript code to detect obfuscation techniques, get a severity score (1-10), and receive recommendations for deobfuscation. Detects hex encoding, Base64, eval(), control flow flattening, variable name obfuscation, packers, and more.
Privacy Guarantee
All analysis runs entirely in your browser. Your code never leaves your device - no uploads, no API calls, no tracking.
Why Use Our JavaScript Obfuscation Report & Analyzer?
Comprehensive Technique Detection
Detects 10+ obfuscation techniques including hex encoding, Base64, eval(), Function() constructors, control flow flattening, string arrays, XOR obfuscation, packer patterns, variable name mangling, and whitespace compression.
Severity Scoring (1-10)
Each detected technique is rated by severity (info, low, medium, high, critical) and contributes to an overall obfuscation score. A single glance tells you how heavily protected the code is.
Actionable Deobfuscation Guidance
Every detected technique includes a specific suggestion for how to reverse it, with direct links to the appropriate deobfuscation tool. No more guessing what to use next.
100% Private Browser Analysis
All analysis runs entirely in your browser. Your code never leaves your device - no uploads, no server calls, no data collection. Complete privacy for sensitive or proprietary code.
Common Use Cases for Obfuscation Analysis
Security Research & Malware Analysis
Security researchers analyzing suspicious JavaScript can quickly identify obfuscation techniques used to hide malicious payloads, command-and-control endpoints, or data exfiltration logic.
Reverse Engineering Third-Party Code
When auditing third-party JavaScript libraries or SDKs, generate an obfuscation report to understand what protection measures are in place and estimate the effort required to analyze the code.
Debugging Obfuscated Production Code
Before debugging minified or obfuscated production JavaScript, run it through the analyzer to understand which techniques are in play and which deobfuscation tools to prepare.
License Compliance Verification
Verify that your own obfuscation pipeline is working correctly. Run your obfuscated output through the analyzer to confirm all intended techniques are being applied and no sensitive identifiers leak through.
Pre-Acquisition Code Audits
During M&A technical due diligence, analyze acquired JavaScript codebases for obfuscation. The report helps estimate the true cost and effort of understanding and maintaining the acquired code.
Learning & Education
Students and developers learning about JavaScript security can paste obfuscated code samples to see a breakdown of each technique, understand how it works, and learn the recommended deobfuscation approach.
About JavaScript Obfuscation Analysis
What Is Obfuscation Analysis?
Obfuscation analysis is the process of examining JavaScript code to identify specific techniques used to make it harder to read, understand, or reverse-engineer. Unlike deobfuscation tools that attempt to reverse the obfuscation, this analyzer provides adiagnostic report - telling you what techniques are present, how severe they are, and what tools or approaches you can use to reverse them.
How the Analyzer Works
The tool scans your JavaScript code using pattern-matching heuristics to detect known obfuscation signatures. It looks for hex-escaped strings, Base64 encoding operations, eval()/Function() calls, switch-based dispatcher patterns (control flow flattening), large string arrays, hex-prefixed variable names (_0x...), short identifiers, XOR/bitwise operations, packer formats, and whitespace compression. Each technique is weighted by severity to produce an overall score from 1 to 10.
Obfuscation Score (1-10)
The overall score represents how heavily obfuscated your code is. A score of 1-2indicates minimal or no obfuscation. 3-4 suggests light minification or basic protection. 5-7 indicates moderate obfuscation with multiple techniques.8-10 signals heavily obfuscated code with multiple layers that will require specialized tools and significant effort to deobfuscate.
Privacy & Limitations
This analyzer runs entirely in your browser. Your code never leaves your device. It uses heuristic pattern matching and may not detect every obfuscation technique, especially custom or novel methods. The tool is designed to provide a starting point for deobfuscation - always verify findings manually and use multiple approaches when analyzing heavily protected code.
